A month prior to the show, people submit a story idea in about 5 sentences. Seven are pre-selected and two are taken from the audience, The storyteller has 6 minutes and may use notes. The audience votes as well as judges. The winner gets $100 and the top two tellers advance to the finals held last Sunday in December. Submit to: marianastoryteller@gmail.com. All shows held at Long Beach Playhouse 5021 E. Anaheim St., Long Beach, CA. 7-9 p.m. $6.
