Playwrights' Center of SF Summer Master Class series 2014
Playwrights Center of SF Summer Master Class series
The Playwrights' Center of San Francisco is offering three different 3-hour playwriting workshops taught by local and celebrated Bay Area Playwrights, Lauren Gunderson, Patricia Milton, and Anthony Clarvoe.

Each workshop is designed to stand on its own, but members are encouraged to sign up for both in the series.   You can register for one, two or all three.

When: July 26th, August 16, and August 23, 2013
Where: 250 Van Ness Avenue (Grove and Van Ness)
Cost: PCSF members - $45 per EACH class

Not a member?
$105 includes one class and one-year PCSF Membership
Non-members may use the member price for any additional classes they choose to attend, after paying once at the non-member price.

July 26 (1-4pm):
"How to See The End"   with Lauren Gunderson    $45
The endings of plays, the climactic moment of revelation and reversal, should be our beginnings.  How can we demystify the pressure of finding the "perfect" ending in order to write confidently and organically and finish the damn thing.

August 16 (10am-1pm):
"Tarot of Your Play"  with Anthony Clarvoe     $45
A timeless set of archetypes, with layers of meaning from the personal to the cosmic, the Tarot is a rich source of inspiration for artists. Find new characters, enrich your understanding of current ones, and push your storytelling beyond your preconceptions. You don't need any previous experience of the Tarot for it to empower your imagination. We will work with classic Tarot decks, as well as learn to develop a custom deck particular to your play.

August 23 (10am-1pm):
"Thrills, Laughs, and Danger: Writing the Successful Ten Minute Play"     with Pat Milton     $45
The ten-minute play form is a great means to get your work produced and build up a playwright resume. It's satisfying (and fun!) to complete a script in a short period of time.  But a ten-minute "scene" does not a ten-minute play make.  This workshop will equip you with ways of thinking about and writing the ten-minute play, using the elements of dramatic action, dialogue, and characters in conflict. Come learn more about how to master this fun, in-demand form --- and bring stuff for writing, because we'll be doing that!
