A night of oddities and musical magic descends upon the Lizard tonight as four avant-guarde and utterly captivating acts take to the carpets and present The Zero Gravity Tour
"Jaggery audiences go silent and still like people appreciating raw, scary, beautiful wildlife." That observation was made by web magazine,Cambridge Day, in reaction to the Boston-based five-piece who are certainly no strangers to The Lizard Lounge and who work the dark edge of a genre-defying musical style (darkwave jazz? ethereal avant-rock? chamber art-pop?)
Victoria and the Vaudevillains are a zombie punk cabaret band from the East Bay (or Beast if you speak pig latin) in California. Not your ordinary band, Victoria and the Vaudevillains is visually stunning performance art. Fronted by Victoria Victrola, the Vaudevillains' punk cabaret sound ranges from soft and pretty to clanging, banging piano rock.
The Rose Mortician is one of two sister projects belonging to the multi-faceted artist, Minerva Divine. Like its counterpart Nymph Imprint, The Rose Mortician began during the summer of 2000 and its roots are planted firmly in the dark cabaret genre. What distinguishes it, however, is its darker, industrial twist.
Kathryn Dearborn is a peculiar lady. Her music is defined by her rare mix of talents in songwriting, production, and performance. With vocals ranging from the gritty rock to the avant-classical, Kathryn captivates her audience with self-made songs featuring self-made timbres, many of which start with a simple sine wave.
