Join The Anne Frank Center USA as we mark the 50th anniversary of this landmark legislation with a reading by New York Times editor Clay Risen from his new book "The Bill of the Century: The Epic Battle for the Civil Rights Act," alongside a performance of our production, Letters from Anne and Martin. Acclaimed author Clay Risen's book unfolds the historic battle, waged from the streets of the deep South to the halls of Congress, to bring this revolutionary bill into law.

Letters from Anne and Martin is a unique production that combines the iconic voices of Anne Frank and Martin Luther King, Jr. Developed from excerpts from The Diary of Anne Frank and Dr. King's Letter from Birmingham Jail, this piece evokes the important messages from these legendary figures, as they write of their hopes and plans for a peaceful and unified world.

A Q&A, book signing and reception will follow the program.
