RAMENFEST CHICAGO

A far cry from what was once known as a cheap, college student pantry staple, ramen is currently taking the states by storm with new authentic shops popping up around the country. This fall, Chicago will celebrate the beloved noodle dish with the city's inaugural Ramenfest at urbanbelly on Saturday, November 8 from 12pm-3pm benefitting Common Threads.

Owner and Executive Chef Bill Kim is gathering chefs from around the city both ramen experts and novices to prepare their culinary interpretations of the classic dish. Twenty chefs will try their hand at ramen for the event.

A portion of all proceeds from the event and silent auction will benefit Common Threads, a non-profit charity founded by Chicago Chef Art Smith that focuses on educating children about different cultures through food and art.

Tickets for Ramenfest include a sampling of ramen from each chef and one drink ticket. There will be a cash bar.
