Howie Day with Ayla Brown
ABOUT HOWIE DAY

Howie Day's emotionally resonant lyrics and inventive melodies have earned him both critical praise and a legion of devoted fans. He is known for his energetic, heartfelt shows, where he connects with audiences through the strength of his songwriting and his quirky sense of humor. After sales of over a million albums and two Top 10 hits ("Collide" and "She Says") Day is back on the road showcasing old favorites, as well as new material from his upcoming studio release.

A decade ago, Day was everywhere. "Stop All The World Now," his second album, went gold and the hit song from that record, "Collide", became Epic Record's first platinum single with 1.5 million downloads. For several months, "Collide" was ubiquitous, appearing on the soundtracks of popular television shows, "Cold Case," "Scrubs," "Grey's Anatomy," "Bones" and "One Tree Hill" as well as the promotional trailer of new adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice." Day, who infiltrated the Boston Coffeehouse circuit at 17, also developed a huge college fan base and opened for the likes of Sting, Sheryl Crow and Tori Amos.

But of course, there's more to Day than that. Known for his powerful one-man shows, Day connects with audiences through his charm, humor, and warm tenor voice that "soars into fluttering, high registers, but also grates with real, pleading grit," as one critic put it. Now with a third album under his belt and even more new material recorded since its 2009 release, Day has a lot more to listen to. Come see and hear what he's been up to!

ABOUT AYLA BROWN

Ayla Brown is a singer/song-writer, musician, athlete, and TV personality, who has accomplished many things in her young life. After placing 13th on season 5 of "American Idol" she made hundreds of personal appearances in the New England area and developed a very strong musical fan base.

She released her debut album, "Forward," in October, 2006, and entered Boston College on a full athletic scholarship, majoring in Communications, that same year. A two-time Gatorade Player of the Year, Brown found herself juggling books, basketballs and a budding singing career. College degree in hand, Brown moved from Boston to Nashville, in 2011, to pursue her career in country music. She co-wrote seven of the nine tracks that appeared on her self-titled album, working alongside songwriters Brennin Hunt and Nicolle Galyon, Billy Montana, Luke Sheets, and Kelly Archer. The album, "Ayla Brown," was released in April 2012.

Since moving to Nashville, Ayla has opened for numerous country music stars, including Josh Turner, Jason Aldean, Craig Morgan, Loretta Lynn, Tracy Lawrence, Sara Evans, Darius Rucker and more. She is always knee deep in charity work, especially if it involves supporting the troops and helping military families. She is a supporter of a Massachusetts-based military non-profit, called, Hugs for Heroes, Inc., and gave a portion of the proceeds from her 7 Song EP, "Heroes & Hometowns," to the non-profit. Brown also serves as spokesperson for the Songs of Love Foundation, an organization that creates free, personalized, original songs to uplift children and teens who are facing tough medical conditions.

Sponsored by Hilton Hotels, Brown is currently traveling all over the country performing for local morning TV shows and 'staying in style'. She is also busy writing for her next album, and is excited to be performing at The Spire.
