A new piano quartet comprising Miles Graber, piano; Sangeeta Swamy, violin; Stephanie Ng, viola; and Michael Graham, cello, will introduce themselves to you by performing the Mozart E-flat Major Piano Quartet, K. 493, and the Johannes Brahms c-minor piano quartet, Opus 60. The members of this group of high-end multiple award-winning professional musicians have each travelled and performed all over the world and on radio and TV, and collaborated with major stars of the music world. Sangeeta Swamy, PhD, MT-BC, LCMHC, is a freelance violinist in the Bay area and has performed internationally across the United States, Canada, Europe and India. A prize winner in the Fischoff and Coleman Chamber Music Competitions, she has performed as a baroque violinist with Apollo's Fire, and as a young violinist was a soloist on BBC radio. Also a licensed psychotherapist and Board-Certified Music Therapist, she is Associate Professor and Co-Chair of the Integral Psychology Counseling program at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She has a private practice in the Bonny Method Guided Imagery and Music, a music-centered psychotherapeutic technique with roots in the psychedelic-assisted therapies, and is also a Vipassana meditator and astanga yoga practitioner. She spends her free time cooking, gardening, creating a just and equitable world, and walking in nature.
Stephanie Ng, viola, has appeared at Carnegie Hall and other venues worldwide, including the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, and Amsterdams Concertgebouw. She has performed with Barbra Streisand and in the Broadway tour productions of Lion King and Phantom of the Opera. She holds a BA from UC Berkeley, a MM from SF State, and studied in London after receiving a Hertz Traveling Scholarship. She currently performs with chamber groups and orchestras in the Bay Area.
Michael Graham, cello, has been hailed by the San Francisco Classical Voice for almost painfully prettyexpressive richness and the San Jose Mercury News as super-good. He has toured, performed, and recorded with artists including Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Yo-Yo Ma, Pete Townsend, Joan Baez, John Williams, Rita Moreno, Isaac Hayes, and Weird Al Yankovic, appeared on NBCs Jimmy Fallon, and played on Van Morrisons album Astral Weeks Live. He is a member of the Oakland Symphony Orchestra, the funk chamber collective Vitamin Em, and Taiwans acclaimed Ben Feng Studio. Mr. Graham attended the Eastman School and Yale University, and teaches at Mills College.
Miles Graber, piano, received his musical training at the Juilliard School. He has performed with numerous artists, including Sarah Chang, Cho-Liang Lin, Camilla Wicks, Axel Strauss, Mimi Stillman, Paula Robison, Zuill Bailey, Judith LeClair, Frederica von Stade, Christina Mok, Martha Aarons, and Lev Polyakin. Mr. Graber has been associated with such organizations as New Century Chamber Orchestra, Midsummer Mozart; Oakland, Berkeley, Santa Rosa, and California Symphony Orchestras; Oakland Lyric Opera, Berkeley Opera, and Opera San Jose. His accompanying posts have included the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the San Domenico Conservatory, the Irving M. Klein International String Competition, the Mondavi Young Artist Competition, and Northern California Flute Camp. He is a member of the Alcyone Ensemble, Mira Trio, MusicAEterna, the Graham-Graber-Rose Trio, the Sor Ensemble, and Trio Foss.
