Greeting the Bride, a duo project from musicians <n>Yoshie Fruchter and R. Deborah Sacks Mintz, explores Yiddish poetry, loshn koydesh, prayer, and nigunim in an intimate acoustic folk setting. Using a combination of their voices with cello, guitar, bass and mandolin, Fruchter and Sacks Mintz bring new melodies to the Jewish music canon using intricate harmonies, sensitive musicianship, and a real desire to connect with audiences. Like Baez and Dylan, the vocal chemistry between the duo is paramount, and in creating this music the silence between the notes is just as important as the notes themselves.
