The Pieces Broken is a new collaboration, an emerging conversation between two friends, the pianist Malkah Lerner and guitarist Yoshie Fruchter. Performing original compositions, the duo combines the minimalist, chamber-jazz sensibility inspired by the seminal Bill Evans/Jim Hall albums, as well as compositional tropes from their klezmer backgrounds. The Pieces Broken is a truly original and unparalleled musical voice and an important addition to the modern Jewish music landscape.
