NFCT Gala

The North Fork Community Theatre (NFCT) would like to invite you to join us for the First Annual NFCT "Building on Tradition" Gala on Friday June 12th at Martha Clara Vineyards at 7PM. The Gala will feature the food, entertainment and spirit of the North Fork including LIVE Broadway Musical performances by members of the NFCT.

The North Fork Community Theatres history dates back to the autumn of 1956 with a newspaper advertisement that said, Wanted - People interested in starting an amateur Theatre. Our first productions were presented at the Greenport High School and Mechanics Hall in Orient.Then in 1961, through a circumstance of extraordinary good fortune and the ongoing generosity of the Mattituck Presbyterian Church, the NFCT moved into its current home where it has been ever since. For over 50 years, the NFCT has presented live theatre on the North Fork , enchanting audiences with comedy, drama, musicals, and a lively spirit while building a strong vibrant community of volunteers and supporters. Each summer since 1977, the NFCT has produced a Youth on Stage program for young adults who come to act, sing, build sets, and build life-long friendships while rehearsing and performing in the summer show musical. In sum, the NFCT has been a home away from home for thousands of people over the past 50+ years. Additionally, NFCT shows continue to be successfully received with record audiences. The NFCT is thriving!

Based on this solid foundation of past volunteers, enthusiastic audiences, and dedicated donors, the NFCT has begun a new phase in its history. As part of this new phase, we have started the BUILDING ON TRADITION Campaign and taken on the challenge to find and fund a permanent home for the NFCT. Thank you all so much for your time, energy and contributions that continue to make the North Fork Community Theatre a vibrant community resource. We hope that you will attend the NFCT Gala this June 12th and join with us in BUILDING ON TRADITION celebrating our past and looking towards the future.
