New Year's Day boat trip to Cathleen Stone Island
January 1, 2025 Sponsored by Friends of the Boston Harbor Islands the annual boat trip is the best way to start the New Year! Visit Cathleen Stone Island formerly known asThompson Island with its meadows, forests, beaches and 40 acre salt marsh.
Pack a picnic. There is no food sold on the boat or the island. There will be a building open for warmup space. Park policy is no pets and no alcohol.
Travel on MV Freedom which has three decks and is heated. The trip will depart at 12:00 p.m. sharp and return to the dock at 4:00p.m. Boarding begins at 11:30a.m.
Departs Mass Bay Lines, Rowes Wharf, Boston on the MV Freedom. MBL is behind the Boston Harbor Hotel. Check-in with the FBHI volunteers in the ferry terminal.
. The trip goes rain or shine. If the captain/boat company cancel the trip due to weather conditions Brown Paper Tickets will issue a refund.
