Amplified with slower tempos and a thicker and deeper sound, doom metal is intended to bring forth a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom. It is especially heavily influenced by the early work of heavy metal band Black Sabbath, who provided a stepping stone for a darker sense of heavy metal
