Evening @ the Barn: An Afternoon at Oakridge - Jack Oakie Home Movies & More!

An all-Oakie evening featuring a selection of home movies as well as highlights from his extensive film career. The presentation will include a 1953 visit to his home known as "Oakridge" in Chatsworth, CA, hosted Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie. The famous couple will take you on a fun-filled tour of their fabulous estate, formerly the home of Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Taylor. In color!

We'll also be screening behind the scenes footage from "Call of the Wild" with Loretta Young and Clark Gable; Jack visiting Hearst Castle; Attending the wedding of close friend Billy Gilbert; a rare interview with Jack talking about being nominated for an Oscar for "The Great Dictator", as well as working with Charlie Chaplin on that legendary film. Plus, a special tribute to Jack Oakie and Shirley Temple!

Every Sunday the Oakies hosted a box-lunch gathering at Oakridge. Anybody who was anybody showed up. They ate, drank and had a 'swell' time, according to Mrs. Oakie. It was an Oakie tradition and it went on for many, many years. In honor of this tradition, Grub Restaurant will be offering delicious "box lunches" for only $5!

Following this grand event will be an opportunity to ask questions of those in the know! Come spend 'An Afternoon at Oakridge'... you'll never want to leave!

This will be a very special evening sponsored by the Jack Oakie and Victoria Horne Oakie Charitable Foundation. Online ticketing will continue until Midnight on May 13th. After that any remaining tickets will be sold at the door on the night of the event.
