General Meeting and COTE Lecture ~ Introducing the ARTIC Project
Happy hour at Houston's Outdoor Patio 5:15pm  6pm (no host bar)

A world-class, development opportunity is emerging in Southern California. The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) will combine a transportation gateway and mixed-use activity center on a 16-acre site owned by the City of Anaheim.

Regional Connectivity and Beyond

ARTIC will serve as a hub for Orange County and the region, a landmark where freeways, major arterials, bus routes and Orange County's backbone rail system converge. The network of transit choices will continue to grow in the coming years as the number of Metrolink and Amtrak trains serving Anaheim and local and express bus routes increase. On opening day, ARTIC services will include: Metrolink, Amtrak, OCTA bus, Anaheim Resort Transportation, shuttles, taxis, and tour and charter buses. ARTIC will also accommodate future plans for the Anaheim Rapid Connection (ARC) and high-speed trains.

Listed below are some of the LEED Platinum strategies employed.

Environmental goals and benefits of the ARTIC Project:
Reduce energy consumption up to 50% through innovative materials and applications that meet or exceed Title 24 requirements as compared to standard building construction practices.

Reduce potable water consumption up to 30-55% as compared to standard building construction practices through new indoor/outdoor water conservation fixtures and drought tolerant landscaping.

Reduce storm water run-off up to 50% as compared to pre-site conditions by retaining as much water as feasible on site with minimized overflows off site.
Reduce up to 80% construction waste and up to 75% operational waste reductions through recycling efforts.
Reduce air emissions by consolidating modes of travel through transit. Reducing CO2 emissions and green house gases in support of AB 32 and SB 375.
Increase energy efforts by taking advantage of climate conditions (sun, wind, and shading) through design and materials.

Optimize landscape and open space areas for drought tolerant materials and plantings; maximize water retention and harvesting for re-use.
Use of Ground Water Replenishment System to use reclaimed water for cooling towers, toilet flushing and irrigation.
