Positive Vector 2023: Marathon & Half Marathon
This page is for registering to participate in the Positive Vector Marathon & Half Marathon on 12/16/23. All participants are encouraged to raise funds via GoFundMe Teams to help us reach our goal of raising $25,000 for NAMI-CV. Once registered you will receive an email inviting you to join the team. You can also share the donation page widely and get your friends and family to help support your run!
About the Event
Positive Vector is an official event of NAMI - Chippewa Valley. Positive Vector is a mostly self-supported marathon and half marathon that seeks to open conversation about mental illness and support NAMI Chippewa Valleys mission of providing education, support and advocacy to people who live with a mental illness and their families.
The Route
The run is on Saturday, December 16th, 2023. The marathon will start at 10am in Menomonie, WI, at the Menomonie Market. The half marathon will start at 12pm at the Spring Brook Town Hall. Runners are responsible for their own transportation to the start. We suggest car pooling! The route will follow county roads and rural roadways, finishing at the brand-new Menomonie Market location in Eau Claire, WI.
Runners
This event will take place in Wisconsin in the middle of December. We plan to run in rain, shine, or snow! The event will only be called off in the case of extreme weather conditions. Please dress for the weather. Layers are wonderful. Have water and energy on hand. A running backpack or belt is recommended. Water, energy, and other forms of support along the route are contingent upon volunteer recruitment. We expect to have some support, but be ready to support yourself. It is advised that you stick with a group or running buddy so runners can support each other. **Please note, there is no course timing. We have measured out a 26.2 route, but there will be no official time.**

There will be a bus to bring runners to the start of the full and the half marathon.
- Full Marathon: Bus departs 8:30am, Menomonie Market Eau Claire to Menomonie Market Menomonie
- Half Marathon: Bus departs 10:30am, Menomonie Market Eau Claire to Spring Brook Town Hall
Both markets and the town hall will have bathrooms and warm areas to get ready inside. There will be water, coffee, bagels, bananas, Embark Energy, and GoMacro Bars.
Finish/After Party!
Both distances will finish at the Menomonie Market in Eau Claire. Friends and volunteers will greet the runners and there will be warm food and indoor space to relax.
6-9pm, the Market will host the official after party. There will be food & drink for purchase, a raffle, and short program from NAMI Chippewa Valley at 7pm. All runners, volunteers, friends, and community members are invited!
Runner registration closes Sunday 12/10 at 11:59pm.
