HOWL Closing Reception with special guest Annie Enneking!
Bella Luna Studios at the Wolf House proudly presents HOWL Closing Reception featuring artwork by Paula Cisewski, Annette Schiebout, James Dankert, Doug Talalla, Heather Renne, Laura Rockhold and Kim Bahmer-Rada, and poetic and musical performances by Kim Bahmer-Rada, Annette Schiebout, Paula Ciseswski and special guest, Annie Enneking!

Music/performances will be scattered throughout the house from 7-9.

For Art-A-Whirl in May, the house participated by decorate its walls with artwork by Paula Cisewski, Annette Schiebout, James Dankert, Doug Talalla, Heather Renne, Laura and Kim Bahmer-Rada. There were over 20 performers for the day. This will be the closing reception for the HOWL exhibit, and we will be joined by the incredible Annie Enneking of Annie and the Bang Bang.
Kim Bahmer-Rada is a Minneapolis-based artist and musician. Her songs range from folk, rock, jazz, and pop. A multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with a degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota. She is self-taught as a visual artist and focuses primarily on line drawings with intricate patterns. Kim is also a survivor of post-viral illness as well as mild traumatic brain injury. She has turned to process her experiences and her current works express themes of grief, loss, resilience, and hope with a voice that is both soothing and strong. Paula Cisewski is a poet, printmaker, collage artist and editor who is interested in the strangeness of halted time passing, in presence and absence, in disconnection and (always simultaneously) subtle, ever-present connections. Her fourth poetry collection, Quitter, won the Diode Editions Book Prize. She is also the author of The Threatened Everything, Ghost Fargo (Nightboat Poetry Prize winner, selected by Franz Wright), Upon Arrival, and several chapbooks, including the lyric prose Misplaced Sinister. Most recently, her visual work has been featured on the cover of Rain Taxi Review of Books, Concision Literary Journal, Folder Magazine, and in the group show Beyond the Page: Poets as Artists in the New Year at Friedli Gallery.
Phil Dokken
James "Billy" Dankert is a musician and visual artist best known as the drummer, singer and songwriter for Minnesota-based band Gear Daddies. Since the break-up of the band in 1992, he has released six albums of solo music. His illustrations have appeared in City Pages, Alimentum, Nerve Cowboy, and The Poets Guide to Food, Drink, and Desire by Gaylord Brewer. His visual art comprises both abstract and figurative works in paint and print. He resides in Saint Paul, MN. www.jamesdankert.com www.billydankert.com
Annie Enneking
Heather Renne has been art and antique obsessed since childhood. She holds a BA in Design, a Certificate of Design Psychology, and has formally studied art and architecture throughout Europe. She has taught art technique and history to preschool through college level students. Heather has both curated and shown at dozens of shows and galleries. Over the years she has experimented with various media, maintaining an antiquarian or vintage aesthetic that defines her style.
Annette Schiebout is a consultant, freelance writer and project manager. She has participated in literary and musical performances throughout the Twin Cities and Los Angeles, including TIC, Saint Paul Almanac, Poetry Circus - LA, Cracked Walnut, My Ocean, iNMigration, Goth Mom, Prairie Fire Lady Choir, and Kith + Kin Chorus. Annette is Loft Literary Center fellow and an Intermedia Arts Mentee. She has received residencies at Sirenland, Mont Blanc, and Squaw Valley. She is published in rps, Honeypot Literati, F'Jords Review, Ó Bhéal and others. Annette received an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Hamline University.
After bagging his jazz dreams at berklee college of music, Doug Talalla spent a short stint at MCAD, then went west to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA for 4 years and returned to a booming advertising scene in minneapolis. They say it takes 10,000 hours to master something. Talalla has racked up maybe twice as much over 25 years freelance illustrating, story boarding super bowl ads. tony's pizza boxes. working with top notch talent like james l brookes, hanging out with david lynch , and getting his finger prints all over thousands of commercials, print ads ,children's books, editorial cartoons and comic books, and was the face of multi-billion dollar enterprise car rental (so long and thanks for all the fish, enterprise!!) These days he hangs out with his three cats and paints in his studio in north Minneapolis.
