10 Hairy Legs/Crossroads Theatre/New Brunswick
10 Hairy Legs returns to Crossroads Theatre to share an afternoon of exceptional dance and live music.  This season 10 Hairy Legs boast 20 hairy legs - all 10 company members will be performing this afternoon.

The program includes:

"Interview" - Claire Porter's brilliant spoken-word/movement piece, performed by company member Tony Bordonaro, currently appearing in the off-Broadway smash hit "Sleep No More."

"Friends of Dorothy" - David Parker re-envisioned this work for us, adding sections and music.  The duet is set to music from the film "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," and memorable favorites such as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "Why Not Me?"  This will be its Company Premiere.

"The Blind Men and the Elephant" - Julie Bour's quartet features 4 men, costumes by Olivier Theyskens with an originally composed score by Kyle Olson.  This work is funded in part by Major Grants from the O'Donnell Green Music & Dance Foundation and New Music USA's 2014 Live Music for Dance Award.

"Closing the Glass Door" - James' poignant duet set to the Haendel-Halvorsen Pasacaglia, played live by Violinist Jane Chung and Violist Sarah Biber.  Live musical accompaniment is funded in part by The Frank & Lydia Bergen Foundation.

"Trouble Will Find Me" - Doug Elkins new quintet set to the music of Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn, an internationally acclaimed Pakistani musician, who was primarily a singer of Qawwali, the devotional music of the Sufis. The movement incorporates floreos (small, expressing hand movements used in Spanish dancing), floor work, Capoeira and Salsa.

This program is 80 minutes long with one intermission.

Crossroads Theatre was made available through the generosity of Johnson & Johnson, Inc., Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission/Board of Chosen Freeholders, and the New Brunswick Cultural Center.
