Books Are Better Shared (BABS)

May 18, 2014 is the inaugural event for Books Are Better Shared (BABS), an event for book lovers and book clubs.

BOOKS ARE BETTER SHARED is a social and literary gathering of book readers, authors, and publisher representatives. Our day will kick off with a Book Club Boot Camp covering ideas to help jump-start your book group. The rest of the day will include a selection of panel discussions, including publisher reps presenting their favorite picks of the season.

AUDIENCE: Anyone who belongs to a book group, wants to meet new authors, or is looking for new ideas for book groups. Registered attendees will take home a book bag filled with books and other goodies, enjoy lunch, and discover new books to share.

PANELS (preliminary): Why Literary Fiction Matters, Experience the Lives of Others, Why We Love Mysteries, The Book Club and the Male Writer, Debut Authors You Will Be Hearing About

WRAP UP: Publisher Sales Reps Make the Best Recommendations; This panel will include four publisher sales representatives making recommendations for book groups.

The day begins at 10am for check-in and coffee. Pre-registration is required to attend. Please make your reservations no later than May 4, 2014.
