Creative Catalyst workshop: Co-Creating with Children and Young People
Join award winning theatre, drama and creative learning company Mortal Fools to explore what equitable co-creation can look like, and how we cultivate safe spaces that enable creative bravery whilst responding to the needs for contemporary young people.
Across this practice sharing workshop attending Theatre & Drama Practitioners will:
-Explore the practical techniques that Mortal Fools use to co-create theatre and drama with children and young people. -Try out approaches to devising theatre with children & young people from a range of settings. -Learn new ways to supportively facilitate theatre & drama sessions. -Meet the Mortal Fools team and network with like-minded peer practitioners via a practical session. -Hear more about future work opportunities with Mortal Fools.
The workshop will be led by Mortal Fools Artistic Director and CEO Kiz Crosbie, Creative Producer Helen Ferguson and Practitioner & Coordinator Scott Wilson. We are keen to meet practitioners who are interested in co-creation, sharing their participatory practice and/or applying to work with us in the future.
This session is free to attend but pre-bookable. We will provide teas, coffees, sweet treats and cold refreshments.

This workshop is part of Mortal Fools Co-Creation Exchange Project Led by Mortal Fools and funded by Arts Council England, the Co-Creation Exchange is a network of committed cross-sector partners, who share the core aim of developing and advocating for high-quality co-created youth theatre and drama opportunities in the North of England.

Venue will be fully accessible and step free, with disabled access.
We can provide a session breakdown and will email pre-event to with session information. Our sessions are inclusive and we specialise in holding safe spaces in which you can be vulnerable and have meaningful conversations.
Our workshops are participatory and physical - but we encourage folks to engage in a way that is right and comfortable for them - we can also adapt and evolve activities/the session based on any accessibility needs in the space.
