The Dirty Bourbon River Show deftly melds sounds that range from hard-edged blues to Lisztian piano driven ballads to New Orleans brass into a result that is truly a blast of new energy into the musical landscape. Dirty Bourbon grabs hold of audiences, fascinated by their eccentricity and dexterity coupled with their ability to harken back to by-gone eras in music.Since forming in early 2009, the Dirty Bourbon River Show has released 6 studio albums and played over 500 live shows, fast earning them a stellar reputation for their tight, multi-faceted sound and high-energy performances. Jeremy Lyons, versatile performer, slide guitarist, singer and songwriter, plays in and with American music traditions. His light, facile finger picking and slide guitar dig deep into the soul. His irreverent wit draws you in. His originals are full of characters whose good intentions stumble into bad behavior. His book learning in ethnomusicology has been tempered by years of playing in the clubs and streets of New Orleans. After his home was washed away by Hurricane Katrina (chronicled in the song "Hurricane"), he moved up North but left a good chunk of his heart in New Orleans. You can hear it in his music.

Jeremy knows his stuff. His repertoire is deep enough that he could easily play an entire evening of 1) folk and blues traditional songs; 2) all original material; or 3) driving rock-tinged grooves. Though most often in his solo shows you hear an intriguing mixture of styles that add up to the best of roots music.

There's a lot to this compact player with a smoky tenor voice and battered trilby hat. You can hear it in his music.
