Événement

The Vent - 1/19/14
The Theme for the Jan 19th show:

"A N D   N O W   I T' S   D O N E"

"Stitched Up and Stoned"
Kari Kiernan
-----------------------------
The one good thing about elective oral surgery is that, when you schedule it, you get to decree the exact date of the worst thing that will happen to you all year. That's why when--three weeks later--your faith in the curative power of Tums is rocked to the very core, the phrase "worse than childbirth" is being bandied about by medical professionals, and you're vomiting into the emergency room sink, you begin to suspect that you and fate use different calendars.

"Might as well Let the Grass Die"
Kay DeMartini
-----------------------------
During her weekend at a personal growth workshop where she participated in a 'Be the Earthworm' workshop and danced to a Thai-infused Bob Marley song, Kay experienced 'a shift'. Returning home & anxious to begin a new life overflowing with gratitude, she began with her confused landscaper, Mr Ho.

"Crazy For You."
Jake Arky
-----------------------------
I'm so in love with you. Let me count the ways: you can freak dance with an eight grader at a bar mitzvah party, punch me in the face on Fourth of July, and beg me to commit you to a psychiatric ward after our relationship ends. We can break up, you can break down, and one of us will break through, but after all is said and done, who is crazy for who?

"Leave Room For Baby Jesus!"
Mosa Maxwell-Smith
-----------------------------
Even though her husband said it would be ok, Mosa felt anxious as she danced under dim lights in the arms of a tall, dark stranger. She had no idea that she would be meeting his parents the next morning. Nor did she realize some of her "dance crush's" odd proclivities. What's the difference between childlike and childish again?

JUST ADDED:
"Berkeley Bust"
Karinda Dobbins
Karinda got a call from her daughter on a sunny afternoon and her cryptic voice said "someone wants to talk to you." This conversation with "someone" leads down a road most parents hope to avoid. Who knew standing at a bus stop in Berkeley could go so wrong.
