Bryan McPherson
Apocalyptic Folk-Punk Troubadour Bryan McPherson hits the road supporting a somewhat optimistic new release.

When the shit hits the fan, Bryan McPherson hits the road. Bryan is not one to shy away from a collapsing economy, high gas prices, or a looming World War 3 when it comes to bringing his songs to the people. He is hitting the road supporting a somewhat optimistic new album.

The Working-Class Troubadour, kicks off his first official tour in 2 years in support of his new album, How to Draw Everything, Produced by Grammy winning producer Ted Hutt of Old Crow Medicine Show and Flogging Molly Fame.

The album was recorded over the lockdowns and released in spring of 2022.  Featuring accompaniment by once members of The Dropkick Murphys, Dustbowl revival, and Liz Phair, heres what Author and Critic Aaron Carnes, of (Playboy, Noisey) had this to say, How To Draw Everything isn't just Bryan's latest record; it's a whole new beginning for him as an artist. On the meditative "2 Birds," he muses, "There's something about the sky that makes me grateful to be alive." Hope finally outweighs despair and can be reclaimed, like a child wondering at the seeds of a dandelion. Bryan defies us to admit hope was there all along.

As an artist labeled a protest singer perhaps in these dark times this is a protest record after all.

About Bryan McPherson:

Bryans journey began when he started writing songs to make sense of the world, initially with Dorchester, the working-class neighborhood in Boston where he grew up.  While crafting his sound, an aggressively tender style of folk music comprised of punk-gospel melodies, pointed lyrics delivered with a deafening tenor, and agile acoustic fingerpicking to balance a raucous, thunderous, acoustic guitar,  he recorded and released 14 Stories on the indie label, Indecent Music and rose through the ranks of the Boston music scene securing opening spots for The Dropkick Murphys and even rock and roll legend Chuck Berry.

In 2010 Bryan was called westward to California where in 2011 he recorded the highly regarded  American Boy / American Girl  in Berkeley, a stones throw from the famed punk club 924 Gilman St and legendary Telegraph Avenue - the landmark battleground for free speech and expression of the 1960s.  A perfect match.  In 2012 Bryan hit the road in a 95 Astrovan playing everywhere and anywhere  one night for five people at a VFW post in Oklahoma, another night for thousands in NYC.  He chronicled what he saw along the way and recorded and released the full length albums Wedgewood (2015) and Kings Corner (2019) as well as numerous singles.  He wrote about the humanity he encountered in his travels  people he met playing a thousand gigs big and small, from Manitoba to Florida, Maine to San Diego.  And he continued to report on his interior journey -  battles with demons, past and present, struggles with love, and conquering addiction.

All of this culminated in 2020 when he left the road and with the help of Grammy Award-winning producer Ted Hutt(Old Crow Medicine Show, Brian Fallon, Flogging Molly) recorded his latest album the Double LP How To Draw Everything at Kingsize Soundlabs in Los Angeles.

How to Draw Everything landed on listeners' ears in the Spring of 2022 and Bryan is once again, hitting the road.
