Seattle AWIS has been celebrating the achievements of women in the Pacific Northwest since 2013 with our annual banquet and awards. The banquet is an inspirational evening supporting and celebrating the achievements of all women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
At the banquet, you will hear from the 2022 Award winners, meet the AWIS scholarship recipients and enjoy the company of other supporters of women in STEM.
Seattle AWIS is honored to recognize three outstanding women who have advanced their fields of scientific research, education and outreach. They are leaders and innovators whose work has made an impact. They are mentors and inspiring role models for students and other professionals.
The 2022 Seattle AWIS Award recipients are:
Dr. Mary (Nora) Disis, MD, UW Medicine, Director, Cancer Vaccine Institute,
for Science Advancement & Leadership;
Dr. Angela Fang, PhD, Assistant Professor, UW Psychology,
for Early Career Achievement in STEM;
Dr. Dharshi Bopegedera, PhD, Chemistry Faculty, The Evergreen State College,
for Excellence in Science Education/Outreach.

COVID PRECAUTIONS
With Covid infections on the rise, we are taking precautions to make the event safe and comfortable for all.
a.Proof of vaccination is required at the door.
b.We encourage attendees to take a home test the day of the event. If the test is positive or if you have Covid symptoms we request that you not attend.
c.We ask that attendees bring a mask. Masks will be required when going through the buffet line. They will be recommended but not required during the rest of the program.
d.We will keep the wall of patio doors open during the program to increase air flow.
e.We will provide hand sanitizer and wipes at the buffet tables, coffee/tea table and wine bar.
PARKING:
There is limited free parking at the venue and there is street parking in the area. Please consider carpooling, taxi/Uber or using buses that run on NE 45th St. More walking, driving or bus recommendations can be found here:

SCHOLARSHIP DONATIONS:
We encourage you to donate to the AWIS Scholarship Fund. Undergraduate women studying science, technology, engineering or math at a Washington college or university are selected based on outstanding letters of recommendation, financial need, community service and a strong interest in pursuing a career in STEM.
