Now in our 4th year!  Join us as we celebrate our 2021 and 2022 winners!

A staged reading of four short plays will be presented at The Palm Springs Cultural Center on Sunday, June 12th, beginning at noon.

BROTHERLY LOVE is written by 13-year-old Jadelynn Okialda-Simmons from Hans Christensen Middle School (Menifee, CA) and will be directed by Executive Producer at Discovery Network, Keith Hoffman.  How far will someone go to protect and defend family?  And in a surprise ending, what are the consequences of their actions?

TRAPPED is written by 17-year-old Cal Vaughan from Palm Springs High School and will be directed by Actor/Director and former Artistic Director of Coyote StageWorks, Chuck Yates.   Imagine a pandemic hitting the entire world.  Now imagine how two teenagers in different homes maintain a relationship while living with their families who dont understand gender identity.

GOTCHA is written by 17-year-old Yamani Scoggins from Valley View High School (Moreno Valley) and will be directed by Broadways Phantom of the Operas Marni Raab.  Inspired by real-life events, a teenager looks to the internet for comfort and connection after the murder of her brother.

Our 2022 winner is Brooklyn Rutledge.  A 15-year-old from Paloma Valley High School from Menifee, CA.  Their play, MAIN CHARACTER, will be directed by film/tv actress and director Deborah Harmon.  MAIN CHARACTER is a play within a play about the mean girls in High School who arent so mean after all.
