Spindrift School Presents: CHICAGO: Teen Edition

In the roaring twenties Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap... until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal.

Adapted in collaboration with Theatrics, Kander & Ebb's legendary and award-winning musical about fame, fortune and acquittal is now widely available to be performed by High Schools across the world. Chicago: Teen Edition has been adapted to remove overtly sexual reference & adult language.

In a world of tik tokers, instagram influencers and the eternal quest for "likes" the world of 1920's Chicago isn't that far removed from our reality today. The characters are perhaps even more honest in their drive to be famous and keep their 15 minutes of fame.

Join us in the celebration of returning to public performances with one of the Great American Musical Theatre classics: Chicago! We will be performing on the mainstage of the Pacifica Players Theatre.

Proof of vaccination will be required. All staff and audience members except the cast will remain masked (as of this time, if that changes, ticket holders will be notified.)

Recommended for ages 10 and up.
