Piano Concert: Adam Kent plays Schubert

A Schubertiade: Out of the Shadow of Beethoven

CUUC Music Director Adam Kent in Concert!

Although Franz Schubert's untimely death at the age of 31 robbed him of the chance to establish the sort of public following among the Viennese enjoyed by his idol Ludwig van Beethoven, his music was lovingly received by a circle of admiring friends and colleagues in intimate home gatherings known as "Schubertiades". On Sunday November 14 at 2:30 pm, Music at CUUC presents pianist Adam Kent in a recreation of one of these house concerts, featuring several of Schubert's beloved Impromptus and Moments musicaux along with his masterful Sonata in Bb Major, Op. Posth., his final work.

The program will also offer soprano Kim Force, accompanied by Adam Kent, singing one of Schuberts lyric works. Tycho Force will be on hand as young Schubert being visited by the ghost of his idol, Beethoven - played by Christian Force.
