Comedy On The Commons Local Comedy Showcase w/Headliner Madelein Smith
Ithaca's funniest up-and-coming comedians break the pandemic with laughter.
Hosted by Ithaca's favorite comedian, Kenneth McLaurin, Comedy on The Commons is bringing the best of our local comedians alongside the best professional comedians in NYS, welcome you out of the pandemic part II with a fun, humor, and laughter filled night.
Must be vaccinated to attend.
We are excited about the show and our local comedians, Marty Garcia, M Gonzalez, Zach Fitterer, and Alli Hartley! They have been finding the funny over the past couple of months, working on their sets, and are ready to sling some jokes to a live crowd!
Headliner Madelein got her start in comedy in Rochester NY, where she regularly emceed and was featured at the local comedy club. Madelein, was the founder, producer, and host of the monthly "Rage Against the Vageen" at The Comedy Club in Webster, an all-female comedy showcase from September 2013-September 2015. She was the winner of the 2015 and 2016 March Madness Comedy Tournament, 2016 'Cuse Comedy Showcase, 2016 "Who's Got Next" at Photo City Improv, and was a finalist in the professional category of the 2016 Ladies of Laughter in NYC. She has been featured on the Chicks are Funny franchise at the Albany, Hartford, and Syracuse FunnyBones, has been a featured performer at the Rochester and NYC Fringe Festivals, Fall Back Comedy Fest, Finger Lakes Comedy Fest, Ithaca Festival Comedy Fest, Laugh Riot Grrl Fest in Los Angeles, and internationally at the SheDot 2017 Fest, and the Beaver and Bacon Comedy Festival, both in Toronto. Her comedy has been featured on SiriusXM Canada Laughs. Recently, she co-wrote a four-episode web series entitled Failing Forward. The series was produced by Talking Back Pictures, based out of New York City.
