Repast Baroque Ensemble: French Visions, Brooklyn Performance
This multimedia program features French silent films from the early twentieth century paired with music from the French Baroque. The image-rich and programmatic music of Rameau, Lully, Purcell, Rebel, Forqueray, and Francois Couperin is juxtaposed with whimsical, inventive, and comical early French films, including Georges Meliers Journey to the Moon.
