Fruit Tree Orchard Care Series - Class #3: Fruit Tree Grafting: Bench Grafting and Top Working
Grafting fruit trees lets us mix-and-match genetics to create a custom fruit tree that can best meet our needs. Most every fruit tree is grafted, meaning it is made up of two different sets of genetics (one for the type of fruit, another for the tree's root-size).
Come explore the theory and potential behind grafting, and learn how to do it yourself! In both the lecture and hands-on portions of the class, we will cover grafting small new trees, as well as how to graft new varieties onto older existing trees. Each participant will have the chance to custom graft and take home a dwarf apple tree!
Please note that the location for this session has changed. Meet at the Heritage Farm at 1919 NE 78th Street, Vancouver, WA 98665.
Questions: call Erika at 397-6060 x 5738.
