EUGENE CHADBOURNE is an accomplished free-improvisational guitarist from Greensboro, NC. He began his musical career in New York City in the 1970s, playing with the likes of John Zorn and Henry Kaiser, and releasing his first solo guitar album while founding the Parachute Records label, He formed an unconventional rockabilly band called Shockabilly with Mark Kramer (later of Bongwater and Shimmy Disc Records) and David Licht (drummer for the Klezmatics).

Chadbourne became known for mixing Cajun, Appalachian, and country music idioms with his free improvisation, and released mixed-genre albums throughout the 80s and 90s on labels such as Fundamental, Placebo, Dossier, and Alternative Tentacles. He collaborated with bands such as Camper Van Beethoven and Evan Johns & the H-Bombs. During that period, he also worked with free improvisers such as Frank Lowe. John Zorn, Toshinori Kondo, Paul Lovens and Noel Akchote for such established avant-garde jazz labels as Intakt, Leo and Incus.

In the 1990s, Chadbourne started a band with drummer Jimmy Carl Black from Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, and toured several times with him. Chadbourne spent the next two decades playing avant-garde festivals and tours in Europe and North America, especially lots of dates with Aki Takase, Schroder, and Tatsuya Nakatani (including a 2011 show at Garfield Artworks in Pittsburgh). By 2015, Chadbourne had self-released a 1000-page book called "Dreamory" collecting his memories and tour diaries.

JOEL PETERSON has been a composer, musician, and arts facilitator for 30 years in Detroit. His chamber music compositions have been performed by members of the Detroit and Toronto Symphony Orchestras, the Michigan Opera Theater and New Music Detroit. His venues Bohemian National Home (2005-2008) and Trinosophes  (2012-present) have been two of Detroits most significant spaces for contemporary music, especially in the fields of improvisation, experimental music and ethnic-folkloric genres. A 2010 Kresge Foundation Arts Fellow in Composition, Peterson has lectured at Wayne State, University of Toledo, Oslo National Academy of the Arts and Malmo Academy of Art. His writings have been published by Metro Times, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and Three Fold Press.

Peterson is a founding member of noted Detroit bands including early 90s polyglot pioneers Immigrant Suns; futuristic instrumentalists Scavenger Quartet; electric improvisers Chatoyant; electronics duo Viands; Americana trio Lac LaBelle; Nigerian orchestra Odu; microtonal ensemble Xenharmonic Gamelan; and free-jazz-rock project Harding Peterson Hurley. He is also a member of BoxDeserter with Thollem McDonas and Cycle of Restoration with William Hooker and has performed and/or recorded with Han Bennink, Eugene Chadbourne, Amy Denio, Tatsuya Nakatani, Elliott Sharp, Jack Wright, Rhys Chatham, Damo Suzuki, Sonia Lee, Frank Pahl, Dennis Palmer, Jason Stein and countless others.
