A Tribute to Classic Surf Rock
A favorite summer event at KALA, band leader/guitarist Lorenzo Carlson and Bikini Beach enliven the stage with the raw and reminiscent sound of reverb, tremolo, and the often lyrically haunting instrumental surf rock sound. Hear classic faves from The Shadows, The Marketts, The Ventures and more.
The band includes coastal venerables, Mark Newsome on rhythm guitar, Richard T. on bass, Flint Rice and his beautiful pink glowing drum kit, and Lorenzo Carlson on lead guitar.
Saturday, Aug. 21. Doors open 8pm. Music follows. Tickets available at door, but due to capacity limitation, advance tickets are suggested. $10 advance www.brownpapertickets.com. KALA is located at 1017 Marine Drive in Astoria. 21+ please.
