Excursion to Fishers Island to see this years Annual Exhibition, 'Fishers Island, Naturally', complemented by two special exhibitions
Come 'on! We're going to Fishers Island to see the new shows.
This years Annual Exhibition, 'Fishers Island, Naturally', complemented by two special exhibitions, celebrates the natural history of Fishers Island, primarily through the lens of contemporary photography, with a focus on both habitats and the diverse species that utilize and/or occupy them.
We're going Mondays, August 2 and 30 -- taking the ferry, seeing the shows, stopping for lunch, then toodling around the island. Sign up today.
View the new 'Photographers of Fishers Island, Part One, 1880s to 1930s' exhibition, curated by Pierce Rafferty, at the Henry L. Ferguson Museum. This year's exhibition celebrates the work of the first photographers of Fishers Island. Some were professional, some amateur, but together they provide a multi-faceted portrait of all aspects of island life.
We're taking the Fishers Island Ferry from New London.
Times listed will be adjusted to the ferry timetable. Trips leave from the Fishers Island ferry terminal on the New London waterfront, within steps of the NL Amtrak station. Each trip is limited to 12 attendees. $60.

The ferry LEAVES NL at 11:30 AM.
The return ferry leaves from Fishers Island at 4:45 PM and travel time is 45 minutes, so you should plan on arriving back in New London at 5:30.
We meet at 11:15 in front of the entrance to the Fishers Island ferry terminal in New London. The ferry is on Waterfront Park (1 State Street), behind the New London Amtrak station and to the right on the dock.
You may park for free alongside the Custom House (150 Bank Street) in the alley facing the Salvation Army. PLEASE LEAVE AMPLE TIME TO WALK TO THE FERRY -- the boat leaves promptly at 11:30.
