Lula Washington Dance Theatre School Recital
The Lula Washington Dance Theatre - School is proud announce its 2021 Recital Showcase on our new outdoor performance space on Saturday June 19th - "Juneteenth" a historic day of Freedom for African Americans throughout the United States.
The Recital Showcase will highlight the work of all of our amazing young students during the pandemic. We are so very proud of everyones growth and development!
*Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, a Union General rode into Galveston, Texas to announce that the Civil War had ended, and slaves had been freed.
