Wouldn't it be really cool to live on a resort island and have your mother as your high school English teacher? Okay, maybe not. Out in the hallway this big kid with greasy hands and a beard comes up behind me, snags me by the back of my underwear, and while dangling me by my strangled testicles says "you look just like her!" And that's the easy part. Things can go violently wrong in an isolated & edgy community that loves gossip and tragedy. But at least you can write a good essay about Fate & Free Will.

Growing up in America, Lisa's highly outspoken Arab mother taught Lisa the ways of her culture. There was a right way and a wrong way for everything. Mom liked to tell story after story... and then there were the things she just didn't talk about. Mom kept some BIG secrets about growing up in the Middle East- and no matter how hard Lisa pushed, she won't dish. Lisa promises to herself she would never keep secrets. Like mother, like daughter. Lisa finally gathered some pretty big secrets of her own in her early and mid twenties... does she do what her mom did or keep her promise to herself? She does finally tell mom - and what ensues is not what she expected.

Bruce is about to read for a role in a major motion picture. The lead role in fact. CAA, Hollywood's most prestigious talent agency had arranged this audition. They arranged it because Chris Columbus, future director of "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "Home Alone" had worked with Bruce and pressed CAA to help him. He'd proven himself. How else would he have gotten this far? Then why was Bruce suddenly filled with so much doubt? He'd been in this situation before and did not come through. Why would anyone put themselves through this? He has a minute to pull himself together. It doesn't take long before these opportunities disappear. Could he do it this time?
