Jubilee Arts: Deck the Walls

Join Jubilee Arts on site at its art studios on Thursday, December 5th, 2013 from 5:30-7:30pm for a one-of-a-kind art sale and event to raise money to support Jubilee's art and dance programming. Come to see art like you've never seen beforefrom the ceiling to the floor. Affordable art, functional and non-functional pieces available at reasonable prices by local artists, Jubilee Art participants, and special guests. Just in time for your Holiday shopping and decorations.

Did you know?
This past year alone, approximately 1,000 people participated in either free or low-cost art courses, community art projects and special events. The communities served by Jubilee Arts are the Sandtown-Winchester and Upton neighborhoods of Baltimore. Close to 40% of households in these neighborhoods are living below the poverty level and drug addiction and selling of drugs is prevalent. Our program aims to create an outlet for our neighbors to have fun and find release from their stress through art.

Our Community Impact!
For over five years Jubilee Arts has offered a safe and creative space as an alternative to drugs and violence for the youth in our community. Each day youth and their families come and create art and meet professional artist from across the city. Jubilee Arts has facilitated dozens of community beautification projects in the surrounding area as well.

How do we do this?
Jubilee Arts offers over 16 classes weekly such as African Dance, Ballet, Ceramics, fashion design and portrait drawing for ages seven and up. In addition to our weekly classes, we host professional artists who share with our youth how to pursue careers in the arts. We also host several large public arts based festivals that celebrate art makers and dancers from our community.
