The QUEER QUEENS OF QOMEDY
There's a unique comedy revue that's touring the country with some of the funniest, edgiest, talented and most outrageous comics, united by the single theme . . . The Queer Queens of Qomedy!
Producer and internationally known comedian, Poppy Champlin, artfully selects the best of the best lesbian comics from across the country to join her at each venue.
Comedians who have donned the Queer Queen crown include: Vickie Shaw, Carol Leifer, Julie Goldman, Michele Balan, Jessica Kirson, Karen Ripley, Mimi Gonzalez , Jennie McNulty, Fortune Feimster, Karen Williams, Dana Goldberg, Bridget McManus, Sandra Valls, Erin Foley, Dana Eagle, Roxanna Ward, Marga Gomez, Lisa Koch, Barb Neligan and Gina Yashere.
Appearing at Arena Theater on Saturday, November 9: Poppy Champlin with Karen Williams and Marilyn Pittman.

Poppy Champlin
Poppy tackles tough subjects with ease. In this comedienne's hands we can laugh at life's most formidable perilsand laughter that ravages fear is the best kind of all.
Her stand-up pedigree is flawless; from her latest SHOWTIME SPECIAL: PRIDE, and LOGO SPECIAL: ONE NIGHT STAND-UP, to Oprah Winfrey, and a featured story on Entertainment. Poppy has opened for such comics as Ray Romano, Denis Leary, Bill Maher, Bill Hicks and Rosie O'Donnell.
Poppy currently can be seen performing her comedy, in the HBO Documentary "All Aboard Rosie's Family Vacation" and traveling around the country producing her own show called, Queer Queens of Qomedy, now in its seventh year.
Ever increasing her visibility, she performed for over 25,000 people in the closing ceremonies of the Gay Games in Chicago. She has performed for troops in both Japan and Korea and was invited to perform in South Africa , at the Cape Town Comedy Festival.

Karen Williams
As a single lesbian mom living in Berkeley in the 1980s, Karen Williams started doing stand-up comedy "because it was something I could do that didn't cost anything." Known for her quick repartee, insightful commentary and audience rapport, Williams is a comic craftmaster, a gifted actor, a multitalented writer, and an inspirational lecturer.
Featured in the award-winning comedy/documentary "We're Funny That Way," she's shown regularly on HBO and was a nominee for the 1999 GLAMA Award for her outrageously funny comedy CD, "human beings: what a concept" (Uproar Records). As a solo entertainer, Williams delights SRO audiences from San Francisco to South Beach to Sydney. Williams lives in Cleveland, Ohio, the proud mother of three sons.

Marilyn Pittman
"Marilyn Pittman is quick on the uptake and stiletto-sharp on the delivery."
The Washington Post
Her fiery, intelligent brand of comedy has been seen in nightclubs and concert stages from Boston to Honolulu since 1991. Her hilarious insights about "growing and learning" which include relationships, the New Age, and therapy, run parallel to her observations on the absurdities of modern life, including Pepcid AC, television news, and road rage.
Currently, she is a radio commentator for NPR station KQED in San Francisco and as a voice actor, her client list includes Lucasfilm, Sony, and AT&T. The 1992 Academy Award-winning film, "Deadly Deception: General Electric, Nuclear Weapons, and Our Environment" features Marilyn's voice as the Narrator. She also coaches broadcasters and Silicon Valley executives in performance techniques.
