Takacs Quartet
The Takacs Quartet will perform on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 5:00pm at the Mt. Tamalpais Methodist Church in Mill Valley. Their program: Haydn: "Emperor" Quartet, op. 76 no. 3; Bartok: Quartet no. 1, op. 7; Schumann: String Quartet in a minor, op. 41, no. 1.
Recognized as one of the world's premiere string quartets, the Takacs Quartet is renowned for gripping, unified interpretations. They perform eighty times a year around the world. In residence at Univ. Colorado Boulder, they are also associate artists at South Bank Center and visiting artists at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, both in London. They have won myriad awards for their marvelous recordings. In 2005 Takacs welcomed our own Geraldine Walther from the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.
