ALIA MUSICA was created in 2006 by eleven young composers based in Pittsburgh. Since then it has produced nearly 50 premieres of music by emergent composers of the Pittsburgh area, including both members and guests. The group has situated itself firmly in the city's new music scene, with a regular season comprised of intimate chamber concerts and large-scale concerts featuring large ensembles. Today ALIA MUSICA counts on a regular core performance group, assembled through its first two years of existence, and guest performers are invited according to the needs of the composer's score.
