My Beloved Has Gone
Ke, a successful writer, decides to come to Beijing to visit her mother.
When the news is announced by Mothers caretaker to her, Mothers initial response is but to pick up the phone. And upon arrival, Mother asks the visitor if she needs help; evidently Mothers eyesight has gone down to nearly zero.
From Mothers heavily tilted left shoulder, her overcautious walk as if on ice, her talk of no subjects at all and from the fact that she cant stop her saliva dripping out of her mouth while talking, Ke discovers that Mother is really and suddenly getting old.
Taken by the unexpected findings, Ke blames herself that during the past years when Mother needs her help the most, she has left her alone. And she is determined to never abandon Mother again.
