Antje Duvekot is one of the brightest singer-songwriters to rise out of Boston's ultra-competitive acoustic music scene. For years, Duvekot's songs have been critically praised for their hard-won wisdom, dark-eyed realism, and street-smart romanticism. Fans will find all of that in her latest release "New Siberia," but also a mature sense of hope, growth, renewal, and love.
Blending uncommonly beautiful vocals with one of the sharpest poetic sensibilities in her field, Duvekot has a remarkable ability to make us believe she is whispering secrets in our ear, and we know that she believes every word she sings. "New Siberia," produced by folk legend Richard Shindell, is a masterpiece of the modern folk genre.
"Musically, I think I am in the strongest place I've ever been," says Duvekot.
