53rd Annual Oracle Set Foundation, Inc., Book/Author Luncheon
The Oracle Set Foundation, Inc. and the Oracle Set Book Club are proud to host the 53rd Annual Book/Author Luncheon. This year's guest author is the esteemed journalist, Ms. Dorothy Gilliam. Her memoir, "Trailblazer: A Pioneering Journalists Fight to Make the Media Look More Like America," presents a riveting chronicle of the evolution of journalism, social and political discourse and civil rights in America. Ms. Gilliam shares poignant first-hand accounts of her experiences as the first African-American female reporter at the Washington Post and her journalism career which spanned more than 50 years.
This event is a fundraiser for the Oracle Set Foundation's scholarship program. To date, the Foundation has awarded over $160,000 to graduates of DC public high schools and public charter high schools. One of the Foundation's past scholarship recipients will also speak at the luncheon. We usually host over 350 guests at this event.
Come early and place your bid on one or more of the fantastic items that will be available through the silent auction!!
A lively and informative discussion period and book-signing will follow Ms. Gilliam's presentation.
