Shibari Floorwork: Patterns, Progressions & Flow
Japanese-style rope bondage (Shibari/Kinbaku) is hot, beautiful, connective, and reallllly sexy. You've learned some basic ties, but how do you use them together to make a hot scene? How do you move your partner smoothly from one position to another with connection and flow, keeping the scene going?
In this three-hour workshop, we'll explore hot, effective ways to place your partner into beautiful restraint positions on the ground, and move them smoothly & safely from one position to another. By the end of the class, you'll have learned a basic kata/form you can use to do a beautiful & sensual multi-position floorwork progression with your partner, and use as a template for creating your own hot, individual scenes.
We'll also discuss consent and negotiation, anatomy & safety issues associated with rope bondage, and learn tips & tricks for tying your partner smoothly.
Prerequisites: This is an intermediate-level workshop. Students should be able to reliably tie a non-collapsing single column tie, a basic chest harness, and a one or two-rope gote shibari. An arms-free chest harness may be used for students who do not wish to use the gote shibari tie during the workshop.
Please bring: (3-4) 8 meter ropes, 5-6mm in diameter. Hemp or Jute is recommended. Its also helpful to have some shorter lengths of rope in your kit. Please wear clothing suitable for tying and being tied in. No nudity, please. A yoga mat or towel is recommended for sitting and laying on the floor.
Class size will be limited to 8 duos/couples. Early registration is highly recommended.
