Événement

NOW
Pauline Productions presents "NOW." a one-woman play, directed by Martin J. Asprey at the First Congregational Church in Ashfield.

NOW is TAMIRs personal story: The daughter of Jews fleeing pogroms, she grew up in Israel in a culture of guns and grenades with war at home and in the streets.  At age 18, she was conscripted to serve in the Army and attempted suicide with her clunky Czechoslovakian service rifle.  She came to in a hospital.  Against all odds, she had lived. NOW depicts an inner emotional landscape and the healing that has come through faith and theatre--especially the plays and words of Shakespeare.  Professional actress TAMIR, now in her 60s, takes the audience on her lifes journey from fragmentation and the overwhelm of trauma to being present in the now. This brave and timely piece is a universal cry for meaning and peace.

This is the official world premier of this play that has been in development at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox and Shakespeare Forum in NYC.

Reviews:
NOW has meat and substance.  I see this play being done all over the world.  TAMIR fills the stage with her incandescents and sheds light on sensitive issues.  TAMIR is extraordinary .  Thanks for a remarkable performance.-- Arthur Giron, playwright (Edith Stein, Broadway) and founder of Ensemble Studio Theatre.
"Now is moving and entertaining, it has variety and specificity...I laughed, I cried, I was shocked, surprised and in suspense throughout.  TAMIR's story is one of almost absurd epic hope and survival, like 'Ishmael' in Moby Dick and is filled with wit and poetry. Excellent work!-Andrew Borthwick Leslie, Co-Artistic Director of Humanist Project; Shakespeare& Co. member and teacher for 20 years
