David Furlong and Joe Caron met in 2008 while working for a high tech company in Newport, RI. They often played during lunch hours in empty conference rooms and it became quite clear that their two guitar styles meshed very comfortably. Both David and Joe have a rock history with an acoustic foundation.

For David, the last decade has been one of classic club rock as lead guitarist for RI-based New York Minute. Prior to NYM, David played for several years as bassist for Relapse, another classic/cover rock group touring the Rhode Island club circuit. However, his roots are with Three Legged Horse, an acoustic trio of guitar, violin, and bass that played over 200 nights a year for more than a decade during the 70's and 80's. Many of the songs were penned by David. The band headlined at New England clubs and colleges, and opened for The Pousette-Dart Band, McGuinn and Hillman (aka The Byrds), Liv Taylor, and Tom Rush. Three Legged Horse was voted 'Best Acoustic Act' by the Providence Journal in 1978.

Songwriting has always been David's creative cornerstone. Combined with his love of guitars and his growing collection, his compositions range from electric funk to melodic, classical fingerstyle picking. All of these styles come to life in one unique flavor when he and Joe sit down to play.

Joe Caron began playing the banjo at the age of four with his father's help and with influence from the Grand Ole Opry. He added guitar as his primary instrument at the age of seven and began his six-string musical journey from there. His first professional position started at the age of fifteen with the nine-piece horn band "Metropolis." At the age of eighteen he began touring the East Coast with the rock/comedy trio "The Jimmy Carter Show." In 1982 Joe joined the RI-based group "Touch" and a few years later left to form his own original band, "F-Sharp," and again hit the road to tour and promote his own brand of funk, rock, and boogie. Returning to the East Bay of Rhode Island in the late 90's, Joe began performing with the local acoustic/vocal trio "Trinity," with whom he still performs.

Songwriting and playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, and a few other "ethnic" stringed instruments has been Joe's lifelong passion. With Dave he can explore the outer limits of acoustic music with no boundaries.
