Labor Wars of the Northwest
Written and directed by Northwest historian David Jepsen, Labor Wars chronicles the labor unrest, strikes, and gunfights that roiled throughout the region a century ago, including the radicalism and violence that erupted when labor activists and town leaders brawled in Aberdeen and Hoquiam.
The film also examines labor conflict in the context of a decades-long struggle that began with the arrival of the railroads in the 1880s. It shines new light on the 1911 conflicts in Aberdeen, the tragedy in Centralia, and the Seattle General Strike of 1919.
Mr. Jepsen will lead a discussion on labor history and answer audience questions following the film.
The 7th Street Theatre and the Polson Museum are jointly sponsoring the films screening.
