Max: "Partial Suspension Bondage" Workshop - Friday Evening
What:
This workshop covers "almost" suspension, where the person being tied stays on the floor but with a vertical line taking some of their weight.
You'll learn basic vertical-line techniques and will acquire some of the fundamental skills required for suspension bondage.
The workshop covers concepts, equipment, knots useful for suspension, and a number of exciting positions - all with a constant regard for safety.
Much of the class will consist of hands-on exercises to help you get familiar with the material in a friendly, low-pressure environment. The emphasis is on learning, having fun, and building confidence.
If you can, come with a practice partner. If you don't have a partner, come anyway and we'll make sure you get a chance to practice the basic techniques. Rope Bottoms - this is your chance to meet some rope tops - come learn and get tied up!
This workshop assumes no previous bondage experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations. Please consider this workshop even if you're already doing suspensions - reviewing the fundamentals can be valuable whatever your skill level.

Who:
Max has been active in Seattle's BDSM community since 1992 and has been teaching bondage, BDSM and poly workshops since 1999.
While he enjoys and is proficient with a wide range of BDSM arts, Max especially likes bondage - for its own sake, and coupled with other SM activities.
Max shares his love of bondage through his workshops. While his personal scenes tend towards suspension and relatively rigorous bondage, he loves teaching entry-level bondage workshops and watching people learn to tie each other up.
Max has taught at leather conventions around the country, to include Living in Leather (LIL), Thunder in the Mountains, the Folsom Fringe, KinkFest, BodyBound and Shibaricon. He's participated in events sponsored by Seattle's the Stranger newspaper, Babeland, and Seattle Men in Leather (SML), presented at both of Seattle's ArtBound events, and has rigged for a number of photo shoots.
Max also serves as producer / chief instructor for Seattle's monthly "Bondage Workshop Series", which has run continuously since 2003.

PDX Rope Arts: "Bondage is the Point" Party
This evening party is for those passionate about bondage; whether leather, licorice, rubber, or rope. It will be a casual social atmosphere for bondage that is enjoyable for respectful spectators as well as the active participants. Ms. Julie Spanks has provided us with multiple rooms for suspension, casual socializing, and more.
Light snacks and water will be provided.
Alcohol and/or other drugs will not be allowed.
This party is preceded by Max's Bondage Intensive Workshop. By offering a $5 discount to those attending the workshop, we encourage attendees to hone their new skills and socialize with the community.
