About the Discussion:

Should art be accountable to moral standards? If so, what are those standards, and who are their arbiters? If not, in what sense is art answerable to the wider public? Through the cases of Leo Tolstoy and Oscar Wilde, we will explore the values at play when art and morals seem to clash.

JOSHUA DANIEL is a University of Chicago Divinity School graduate with a PhD in Theology. He has since taken his knowledge to various Chicago-area colleges and universities to teach religious studies and philosophy courses.
