Trash : Our Waste Syndrome
https://www.trashourwastesyndrome.org/
Hello my Fellow Earth Residents!
What does your trash say about you?
Does it fit in a cardboard box, hang in the closet, or are you carrying it around?
My Performance Project TRASH: Our Waste Syndrome is a dance theatre initiative to look inside our addictive relationship with items of convenience that almost always end up in a landfill. Trash is suffocating our planet! My goal through art is to encourage discussion about things we take for granted and transforming sustainability of the Earth as a skill.
Dancers will be flying through the air, making pathways through garbage and creating huge structures out of the wreckage (there may even be a few balloon animals!). Everything used in show is from the cast's personal trash they have accumulated during the rehearsal process. The performance highlights that none of us are perfect but by having awareness they can literally reconfigure the stage.
After the show, we will be have an open talk back about our process and help guide people on what they can do on all levels to make a difference.
Together we can change the trajectory of human survival on the Earth. We only have one after all!
Dancers and Collaborators: Natalia Alarcan, Crystal Edwards, Jack Sherwood Montgomery Kreeger, Tori Sarau and Katrina Soricelli
