When the truth does not set you free, what will?

After the death of her son, Patty tries to maintain life for her and daughter Plug (the twin sister of Beni). Unbeknownst to Patty, Plug has an on-going, online relationship with Chris, the young man she believes killed Beni in a car accident. Patty and Chriss dad, Doug, meet after their support group sessions and when the four come together, the fall-out of their past and potential futures, collide in searing ways.

About the Playwright

Marilynn Barner Anselmi came to playwrighting by accident--literally, the accidental death of her son, Ricci, in September, 2007.  Her first play, Raising Ricci, combined my desperate attempts at healing this raw wound with a newly found desire to communicate via play scripts.

Raising Ricci was soon followed by another, and another and so on.  As of this date, Marilynn has written thirteen full length plays, hopped around the country to see them performed, and is hopeful this strange and unexpected muse isn't done with her yet.

The Indigo Girls have a great line in one of their songs, "When God made me born a Yankee, she was teasing " (or something approximating that).  This could be Marilynn's epitaph as she was born and raised in tiny Holt, Michigan, but has been a North Carolinian since 1989.

Marilynn is a proud member of The Dramatist Guild of America.
