This popular event begins with dinner under the Park Pavilion from 5-7 PM, featuring an array of local and international cheese, craft beer, cider, wine and soft drinks, a Champagne BBQ buffet by Elegant Touch Catering, global stations by The Reel Seafood Company (Spicy Seafood Risotto) and Shalimar (Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer (V), Rice and Naan and fresh mini fruit tarts from Villa Italia for dessert, followed by reserved seating for the 7 PM concert at Music Haven - featuring Detroit's Queen of the Blues, Thornetta Davis with special guests Tas Cru & His Band of Tortured Souls and a stageside meet & greet.
Individual tickets cost $75 each; Honorary Committee tickets and Corporate Honorary Committee tickets cost $125 and $500, respectively, and include name listing in the playbill insert, if received by July 29. ALL proceeds benefit the Agnes Macdonald Music Haven and its free world class programming.
The rain site for the event is Proctors, 432 State St., Schenectady.
The 2019 "Music Haven Maven" honoree is Bob Carreau, Executive Director of the Schenectady Foundation and a proven catalyst for good in Schenectady, whose advocacy for the Agnes Macdonald Music Haven Stage spans 20 years.
The Agnes Macdonald Music Haven is Schenectady, NY's premier outdoor summer concert venue, having played host to hundreds of free concerts by world-class national and international touring artists since 1990, thanks to the efforts of volunteer producing artistic director, Mona Golub, the generosity of sponsors, supporters, and community partners alike, and the enthusiasm of adventurous audiences that come prepared to 'travel the world one concert at a time'.
The Featured Artist of the 2019 Music Haven Summer Social is Detroit's Queen of the Blues - Thornetta Davis! She is a multiple Detroit Music Award Winner and a national Blues Music Award nominee in the Best Emerging Artist Album category, for her latest album, Honest Woman. She's shared the stage with Bonnie Raitt, Gladys Knight, Etta James and Katie Webster and Kid Rock, recorded with Alberta Adams, and had her voice featured in both television and film.
