The Songwriters Round

On Sunday, June 2nd singer-songwriter Tom TC Carpenter and Blend Gallery present their songwriter in the round event, inviting three guest songwriters to join us for an afternoon of song and discussion on our craft, presenting original songs and insight for the audience.

For our third show of 2019 (and our first at Blends new home at 104 S Chestnut St - just up the block from the old location), we have gathered a great line up of three excellent songwriters.

First up is Jason Ager, from Philadelphia PA. "Balancing a PhD in German Literature with a few days a week as a stay-at-home dad, Jason still plays more than 100 shows a year in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond..... Nestled comfortably atop classic soul, R&B, and rock influences, songs like Overload and Everybody Needs Love epitomize Jasons ability to rouse hearts and minds in the same breath."

Next on tap is Jim Thorpe native Matt Filer. Matt is a singer songwriter who performs both solo and with the band Sound Birds in venues all over the northeast PA region. Matt recently released his CD "Silent Conversations" and also runs Pisgah Design - creating custom copper and glass creations.

Third up on our list of talent is New Jersey troubadour Bernie Drury. Well known on the north Jersey scene as a performer and supporter of local musicians, Bernie started his musical career when he spent nearly a year busking through France and Italy playing at outdoor cafes, the Paris metro, night clubs and colleges. A member of the Skylands Songwriters Guild, Bernie also co-hosts a podcast called "The Songwriter's Gig" which can be found on iTunes. He recently released his first EP, Tools of a Songwriter
